Sailing Crew
Dear Sailors and sailing interested,
Our sailing section was founded in spring 2022 and we had two nice first season with gain of a lot of experience.
We organize after work sailing tours on the Ammersee or other Bavarian Lakes. Unfortunately we don't own sailing boats therfore we lend sailing boats from sailing schools. The trips start around 17:00 and last 2 -3 hour. We will take this also as opportunity to perform a practice training in general seamanship, knots, sailing manoeuvres.
After-work-sailing events for 2024 are scheduled. We will meet at 15:30 at Eurofighter/ Panavia premises or 17:00 at the sailing school Stefan Marx, Dießen am Ammersee, Seestraße 28. In case you would like to join, get in contact with the section's chairperson. In case you can only join later, we will also find a solution.
In addition we organise the regatta AeroLogCup in September with participation of companies and organisations out of the aeronautical sector.
What do I need on the after-work-sailing turns?
Dependent on weather conditions please ensure to apply sufficient sun protection and have a hat or cap along. Swim gear might also be in your favour. In case there is a probabilty for rain, please also don't forget a rain coat and maybe raintrousers.
What is absolutely required are shoes (preferably sports shoes, sneakers, sailing shoes, wellies) with a white sole. You will not be allowed to enter the boat without these shoes. Barefoot might be not an option as dark boats might partially heat up and moving on the boat might cause injuries caused by the many little things connected to the boat.
As planned we will meet at EF/PAN reception at 15:30 in order to organize the transfer to Ammersee.
In case you can't make it for 15:30 please drive on your own to the Ammersee. We will pick you up when you arrive there. Please use the WhatsApp group to coordinate this.

Don't forget to bring little snacks. Drinks will be provided centrally.
Please consider to plan for a nice social round after the sailing event, once we reached again safe shore.

Select in your Navi the Parking in Windermere-Straße (Train Station)
Park as close as possible to the train station.
Walk across the rails at the pedestrian crossing close to the platform.
Continue through the park towards Segelschule Marx.

The Sailors Crew have purchased training material and course material that you need to do your SBF, SKS or SRC.

Please talk to Oli in case you would like to lend the material for aour own course / exam. You could buy the material as well, however it is unlikely that you need it again after the exam.
